Project Engineer

The Project Engineer coordinates and oversees the entire process of translating customer requests & requirements into a finished product. This process may include, but is not limited to, project planning, engineering design, cost estimating, manufacturing support, inspection, testing, customer interface.
Role of Project Engineers
The Project Engineer is trained and overseen by the Engineering/Sales Manager. The Project Engineer works between the customer and the manufacturing facility. Essentially the Project Engineer listens to the needs of the customer, builds them an engineering design and estimates the cost before sending the order to the shop to be fabricated before being inspected and shipped.

Job Responsibilities:
- Interpretation of customer specifications to properly design a system (equipment) capable of meeting specifications
- Customer support & communications
- Prepare technical reports as required
- Participation in ongoing review, planning and formulation as it relates to the specific business
- Assist with day-to-day coordination and administration of assigned projects
- Ensure customer satisfaction by continual communication on scheduling coordination, project progress, and equipment performance
- Build and develop relationships with customers and pursue opportunities to create repeat customers
Skill and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Valid driver’s license
- Previous client liaison and project management experience preferred
- Must have solid written and verbal communication skills
- Must have quality collaboration skills and the ability to share ideas in a concise manner
- Must be able to assume project technical responsibilities, providing interpretation and resolving questions and problems
- Must have strong technical skills and experience with software pertaining to design, document management, e-mail, and spreadsheets (Microsoft Office)
- Must have a strong initiative and good attention to detail
- Must have strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Must have quality decision-making skills
- Must be able to read and comprehend drawings and sketches
- Must be able to understand and adhere to contract terms and conditions
- Must have the ability to maintain technical expertise on new technologies, products, and tools through continuing education initiatives
- Must have a basic knowledge of metal fabrication processes
- Must have a willingness to travel as required to support project design and implementation as well as customer requests
